eXeem - The Future of P2P?
eXeem - The Future of P2P?
A Short Description of eXeem

eXeem™ is a brand new Peer-To-Peer program, which is based on the BitTorrent idea. eXeem™ eliminates the need for trackers as nodes in the program will be taking their role. eXeem™ also features easy publication of files to the network as well as a rating and comments system. eXeem™ contains NO SPYWARE. eXeem™ is free and is ad-supported. eXeem™ is currently still in its beta testing phase, which means that the network might not be completely stable yet. You are still very welcome to give eXeem™ a try and see how it is different from other Peer-To-Peer programs.

My Opinion on The Program's Potential

Many people have been talking over the new p2p program, eXeem. If you search forums and other web sites, you will see the opinions of many intelligent and not-so-intelligent people. Most people have been putting eXeem down. The main problem pointed out is that it's "just like any other decentralized p2p network (KaZaA, Limewire, WinMX, etc.)" Those programs have been flooded by the RIAA and MPAA with bad files, making it almost impossible to find what you're looking for (especially KaZaA). The truth is that eXeem does have the exact same capabilities of those programs, however, it also has the exact same capabilities of the EXTREMELY successful BitTorrent plus more. BitTorrent is being shut down piece-by-piece only because of the fact it relies on trackers. eXeem eliminates the need for trackers. I personally agree with the fact that eXeem will become flooded with bad files by the RIAA and MPAA, but there is hope. What people do not realize is the extremely useful "eXeem link" capabilities of eXeem. The eXeem link feature would actually allow massive searchable websites (much like torrentspy.com and isohunt.com) for eXeem files via eXeem links. In addition, smaller websites based only on certain types of torrents (PunkHC, TVTorrents, IndieTorrents, etc.) could thrive as eXeem link sites. The part about eXeem that makes it better than BitTorrent is that these sites would be very hard to shut down because they host even less than the already-hard-to-shut-down BitTorrent tracker sites. Also, eXeem link sites would require far less bandwidth and space (meaning less money) than BitTorrent trackers. So, the main point is that now, while eXeem is still fresh and untainted by the RIAA and MPAA, eXeem link sites need to start popping up so that eXeem can become the next, better, BitTorrent. Then, when eXeem is flooded with bad files, you just abandon the built-in eXeem search feature (which essentially becomes equivalent to KaZaA search), and rely on eXeem link sites that give you links to only good files (like BitTorrent sites today).

Other problems about eXeem, such as spyware, adware, banner ads, and the fact it isn't open-source, are being pointed out. I don't know whether or not eXeem really has spyware or adware, but it does have banner ads. I personally do not mind them at all. As for spyware/adware, eXeem Lite has been released, but I have not tried it, and it may get shut down much like KaZaA Lite did.

Bottom line -- Get in on the ground floor and open up an eXeem link site as soon as you possibly can if you have the investment money and expertise needed.
